Blog Tour: Quanta Reset by Lola Dodge

Quanta Reset (The Shadow Ravens #3)
Genre: YA
Release Date: September 27th 2016
Ink Monster

Quanta has escaped her laboratory prison, but that’s where the good news ends.

Life at the Shadow Ravens’ compound is a disaster. She’s drowning in visions of the dark pasts and darker futures of her fellow Ravens and is plagued by her own panic-inducing memories, but Lady Eva still expects her to “train” and “participate in missions.” Plus, the food tastes like burnt plastic.

The only bright spot is her genetic pairing to the brilliant Altair Orpheus. As their relationship grows, she’s positive that chemicals aren’t the only things drawing them together—although chemistry is definitely involved.

While they test the limits of her game-changing new ability to reset time, word arrives from Eva’s agents: Doctor Nagi is still experimenting with her DNA. If he succeeds in duplicating her power…

Forget the Shadow Ravens. The whole world is toast.

Quanta, being classified as a Red Helix, has powers that go beyond anyone's imagination. Her ability to see back and through time has been coveted by the corrupt government, Seligo, and could possibly be one of the reasons that the Shadow Ravens want her returned. The only person she trust herself with is Altair Orpheus. Will they be able to beat the odds, or will time run out for them to do a reset?

The setting of the story is interesting. The caste system based on skills is a common theme for dystopian, but what made it quite unique is the genetic pairing with unstable Red Helixes. Pairing involves genetic modification, helping the Red Helix control her powers, and also the unconscious desire to always keep them safe. That is what linked both Altair and Quanta closer.

Honestly, there were some details missing such as the history behind the helixes, the division between the Seligo and the Shadow Ravens as well as the history among several key characters from both sides. Should these things be provided, the book would have been a more enjoyable read.
